Position: Assistant/Associate Professor Special Education

Status: This is a tenure trace position
General Description:
Primary responsibility is to advise and teach graduate courses in special education. All faculty members in the School of Education and Leadership contribute to the preparation of elementary and secondary teachers. They teach courses, advise students, supervise field work experiences, engage in scholarly and professional service activities, and work closely with other advisors, instructors of other classes, members of the Education faculty, members of the Faculty Senate and public/parochial school personnel. This is a nine-month contract with opportunity to teach additional classes during summer school.
Specific Responsibilities/Duties:
- Teach graduate courses in special education, including some courses related to credentialing in the Multiple Subject Program and the Single Subject Program.
- Supervise interns and student teachers in school settings.
- Advise graduate students.
- Engage in scholarly and professional service activities.
- Serve on school and university committees.
- Maintain awareness of changes within the political, legislative and governmental levels that affect operation of the Education Specialist credential program.

Position: Administrative Assistant and Benefits Coordinator Human Resources

General Description:
Assist the Executive Director, Human Resources with administering staff and faculty services and Human Resources polices and procedures. Manage the Human Resources Department calendar, work-flow and files. Other responsibilities will include benefits administration, record and database management and report writing.
Specific Responsibilities/Duties:
1. General Office - Process all department correspondence and communications in a timely manner so that employees and callers receive prompt attention and accurate information.

Responsibilities will include the assessment of the physical health of student-athletes and the assessment and treatment of injuries incurred by student-athletes while participating in the University's athletic programs. Position: Data Processor Public Safety
Reports to: Chief of Public Safety and Parking/Traffic Supervisor

General Description:
To perform a variety of confidential, responsible, and complex administrative, secretarial, and clerical duties for the Public Safety Department and the Chief of Public Safety; to coordinate and participate in office functions in support of the department’s goals and objectives; to provide information and assistance to employees and the public regarding departmental policies and procedures; and to provide parking support to the Parking/Traffic Supervisor.
Specific Responsibilities/Duties:
- Answer all telephone calls; dispatch calls for service to Public Safety Officers in emergency situations; contact 911 or other emergency personnel. Provide office counter assistance including information to the general public regarding assigned area of responsibility, regulations, procedures, and systems.
- Research, compile, analyze, and summaries NDNU Parking Program, assist in the design and production of technical information and develop Public Safety website information.
- Operate a variety of office equipment including copiers, facsimile machine, and computer; input and retrieve data and text; organize and maintain records storage and filing.

Position: Director of Facilities
Reports to: COO

Supervises: Maintenance Department (four Maintenance Engineers and one Utility Engineer), Grounds Department (one Lead Grounds Manager and two Groundskeepers), Facilities Office Manager, Environmental Safety Officer, Custodial Contractor and a variety of construction, repair and service contractors.
General Description:
The Facilities Director is responsible for planning and coordinating the maintenance and renovation of the University's buildings and grounds, providing contract administration for construction projects, developing short and long term plans for the care of the University's facilities, and ensuring that the quality of the campus environment compliments the University's educational mission.
Specific Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Budget management - Prepare and manage budgets for Plant,
Grounds, and Motor pool averaging 1.8 million dollars to ensure fiscal
responsibility.
- Develop and help prioritize campus wide capital improvement and capital equipment requests.
- Scrutinize and approve invoices on a weekly basis.
2. General administration - Ensure responsible use of University
resources and assets.
- Purchase vehicles for motor pool.
- Oversee maintenance, usage, and DMV compliance of motor pool vehicles.
- Purchase and maintain classroom furniture. Inspect classrooms regularly. Review academic physical plant needs with registrar, other administrators, faculty, and students.
- Review and coordinate furniture and equipment donations to the College.
- Dispose of obsolete furniture and equipment after discussing with stake holders and potential users. Sell, donate, or dispose of the equipment, as appropriate.
- Oversee warehousing, and storage, and central receiving.
- Participate in facilities needs assessments. Create and update five year plans, deferred maintenance listings, and other facilities plans to coordinate with fiscal and academic plans.
3. Routine and Preventive Maintenance – Plan and coordinate the maintenance
of the Universities buildings and grounds to protect assets valued at more
than 43 million dollars.
- Review, prioritize, approve or defer all Maintenance Requests ( Roughly two thousand annually.
- Review proposed work sites to develop cost effecient alternatives.
- Inspect projects to maintain schedules and standards.
- Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs for vehicles, buildings, equipment, landscape irrigation, HVAC, etc.
- Review landscape maintenance plans through regular meetings with Grounds Manager and Groundskeepers. Prioritize grounds maintenance and renovation projects.
- Respond to “emergency” beeper by solving problems or

Public Safety Officers provide 24-hour services for the university community. Officers patrol 90 acres and 23 buildings by foot and vehicle patrols and are responsible for preserving peace and order and providing a wide variety of public relations-oriented services. This is a 40 hour per week, 52 week per year position that may require some long hours.
Specific Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Security - Provide security and protective services to the university community.

- Assist with the completion and quality of the day-to-day operations and seasonal tasks within H&RL by fulfilling 20 office hours per week during regular office hours (M-F, 9am-5pm);
- Maintain on-going communication with the Residence Directors, and the Director and Assistant Director of HRL;
- In conjunction with the RDs and Director and Asst. Director of HRL, assist in creating, editing, and revising of all Residential Life publications (RA Training Manual, Resident Section of Handbook, HRL web page, etc.);
- Maintain a positive, effective, and mutually supportive working relationship with all University departments;
- Attend and participate in assigned University committees and councils;
- Live on-campus for the purpose of being available and visible in residence areas;
- Participate in the On-Call schedule two weekends a semester;
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned by the RDs or Director and Assistant Director of HRL.
3. Other
- Serve as office manager for Housing office;
- Orchestrate the communication of important dates and procedures to RAs and residents;
- Responsible for maintaining and tracking keys.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- Must be a full-time NDNU graduate student;
- Previous live-in, RA, or residence life experiences referred;
- Experience and ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, administrators and parents;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- An understanding of and willingness to provide quality customer service;
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet;
- Good sense of humor.
