Campus Life

The Student Conduct System

According to the Student Code of Conduct, students are not permitted to obstruct or disrupt, on or off campus property, the campus educational process, any administrative process, or any other campus functions through the use of violence, force, coercion, threat, intimidation, or fear; including soliciting, procuring, or inciting others to do so. This includes behavior in the classroom and in administrative offices.

Cases of alleged academic misconduct can be referred to the Student Conduct Committee by a faculty member after consulting with his/her dean.   Students can also request a Student Conduct Committee hearing if a Level Two appeal with the student ombudsperson is not satisfactory. The reporting faculty member will be asked to participate in the hearing.

Any reports of alleged misconduct occurring outside the residence areas are reviewed by the Director of Student Development and Responsibility.   The Director will determine if there is cause and enough information to warrant an administrative or student judicial committee hearing.

Faculty and staff can consult with the Director of Student Development and Responsibility about any student conduct matter.

For immediate emergencies, always contact Public Safety (508-3502).
