Assistant Director of Housing and Residence Life

Jacque S. Little

My residence life career started during my sophomore year of college when I applied for an RA position at Westminster College in Pennsylvania.  I became an RD my senior year of college and remained in the position during the year following graduation.  After a two year hiatus from residence life while attending graduate school at the University of Vermont in which I worked in the Health Promotions Office, I longed to return to my first love of Student Affairs: Residence Life.  Two more years as an RD at Keene State College in Keene, NH helped to prepare me for my current position as the Assistant Director of Housing & Residence Life at NDNU. This is a great institution with great people, great education, and I am fortunate to be here!

Resident Director

Meagan E. Burke

As a Notre Dame de Namur University graduate I am very honored and excited to be working at my alma mater.  I became a Resident Advisor my junior year of college and quickly fell in love with Student Affairs.  I continued to work at NDNU as a Senior Resident Advisor, and as an Assistant Resident Director.  This year I am very privileged to continue to serve NDNU as a Resident Director.

Resident Director

Tina M. Samaniego

While attending Our Lady of the Lake University of San Antonio as an undergraduate, I was a Resident Assistant for three years.  Upon Graduation, I figured out that working with students outside of the classroom could be my career!  I became a Residence Director at St. Edward's University.  After two wonderful years there, I decided to head west to sunny California!  Notre Dame de Namur University has been my home since August 2003.  It has been my pleasure to oversee the health, safety and happiness of NDNU students.  I am proud to be working at an institution that values and embraces diversity.

Resident Advisors
Resident Advisors (RAs) are the most visible members of the Housing and Residence Life team. They are full time graduate and undergraduate students who live with the residents.  RAs are trained leaders who can respond to various situations that arise in a group living environment. RAs are community developers who: advise and counsel students, plan programs, enforce university policies, serve duty, help solve problems, help out in emergencies and most importantly, promote the well-being of each individual student as well as the community. (JB, x3459 and SJ, x3427)

Residence Hall Association
RHA is the decision-making body for Resident students, and offers residents the opportunity to affect the community in which they live. RHA operates as an effective cohesive group, which encourages individual members to develop their own educational, social and community service programs throughout the year. RHA also offers students opportunities to develop their leadership abilities by attending local and regional conferences. Plan on attending RHA meetings and get involved! (SJ003, x3497).
