Argos Win Pac West With Victory Over BYU Hawaii

October 28 - The Notre Dame de Namur women's soccer team captured their first ever Pacific West Conference title with a 1-0 victory over BYU Hawaii. NDNU used an early second half goal from Hope Siffert to win their eighth straight game.   The Argos finished up conference play with a 9-0-1 record and out scored their opponents 27-2 over that stretch.  The game was very close from the beginning, with NDNU narrowly out shooting the Seasiders 6-5.  Candice Schrodetzki made two saves in her final collegiate game and recorded her eighth shutout of the season.  Schrodetzki finished the season with a 0.96 goals against average, and allowed just two goals (0.21 goals against average) in ten conference games. 

Siffert provided the only offense the Argos needed, taking a corner kick from Yang Zhou and heading it into the net.  Jessica Clement was tough in the net for BYU, making three saves.  NDNU concluded the season with a 12-6-2 record and finished with a 12 game unbeaten streak. BOX SCORE


NDNU Remains Unbeaten in Conference, Downs Hawaii-Pacific 6-0.

October 27 - The NDNU women pulled off another impressive victory with a 6-0 shutout of Hawaii-Pacific.  The Argos kept the pressure on all game long, totaling 27 shots to only five from the Sea Warriors.  Kelli Brackinreed had he second consecutive two goal game, both coming in the first half and giving the Argos a 2-0 lead at halftime.  Brackinreeds goals came at the 20 and 34 minute marks with Yang Zhou and Julie Loucks each assisting on one. 

The Argos picked up the second half right where they left off, tacking on four more goals.  Loucks scored in the 54th minute to give NDNU a 3-0 lead before Amy Armijo added the fourth goal less than a minute later.  Lyndsey Schiffman and Morgan King would each add a goal to finish off the scoring.  Candice Schrodetzki made four saves on the way to her seventh shutout of the season.

The Argos moved to11-6-2 overall and have not lost in eleven games.  They are 8-0-1 in conference play and can clinch the Pac West title with a win tomorrow against BYU Hawaii.  BOX SCORE


Argos Blank Chaminade 4-0

October 25 - The Notre Dame de Namur women's soccer team continued their winning ways, shutting out Chaminade University 4-0.  The Argos remained unbeaten in their last ten games, and improved to 7-0-1 in Pac West play.  The Argos were on the attack all game long, racking up 32 shots to only three from the Swords.  Amy Armijo put NDNU on top in the 14th minute, beating the goalie on a feed from Julie Loucks.  Kelli Brackinreed added the second goal on the first half in the 28th minute, scoring from the left side on a pass from Armijo.

With the score 2-0 in the second half, the Argos added a pair of late insurance goals to put the game out of reach.  Lesley Welch tacked on the third goal in the 87th minute on Armijo's second of her three assists in the game.  Brackinreed would add her second goal of the game less than two minutes later to end the scoring at 4-0.  Candice Schrodetzki picked up her sixth shutout of the season, making two saves.  The Argos moved to 10-6-2 on the season, and have allowed only one goal in their last seven games.  They are back in action Friday against Hawaii-Pacific.BOX SCORE
