Argos Historical Season Ends in NCAA Tournament

November 14 – The Notre Dame de Namur men’s soccer team saw their historic 2008 season come to an end as #9 CSU Dominguez Hills won the NCAA Division II Far West Region opener 3-0.  Senior forward Kyle Holland netted a hat trick for the Toros to account for all the games scoring.

The second half started out the same way for NDNU as CSU Dominguez Hills continued to press offensively.  Goalkeeper David Meherg made a few diving saves for the Argos early in the half to keep the game within one.  However, in the 63rd minute after a failed clear, Holland struck again.

Holland fielded the ball at the top of the box with a wide lane to shoot and place into the lower right hand side of the net.  In the 72nd minute, Holland finished off his hat trick when he bent a free kick from 20 yards over the wall and into the upper right hand corner.
