Argos Prepare for 2007

The 2007 NDNU Men’s Lacrosse Team is poised for a huge season this year.  The Argos schedule includes two trips to the east coast to take on schools in Pennsylvania and Florida.  NDNU will take on Mercyhurst College, a National Semi Final participant last year, Catawba College and St. Leo’s University.  The Argos will also welcome in national powerhouse New York Institute of Technology as well as Whittier College, UC Davis and BYU to their newly remodeled state-of the-art playing surface.  Coach Romano returns a core group of seniors led by last season’s captains Mark Scherman, Justin Der, and Geoff Farrer.  Mike Ferrari will once again anchor the Argos in the cage, with junior Tim Campeau leading the team offensively. 

 

2006

Argos Defeat Poets in Season Finale

The NDNU Argonauts made a long trip to Whittier College on Saturday and walked away with a 15-10 victory in their season finale.  The Argos fell behind 2-0 in the first quarter and then came storming back. NDNU went on a 5 goal run spanning the second and third quarters to put the Poets away. The Argos were led by Marc Mackrides with 6 goals and 2 assists. Tim Campeau added 6 points to the Argo victory. NDNU finished their season with a record of 5-3.

NDNU Outshoots Claremont in 13-5 Victory

The Argos took 37 shots to just 21 for Claremont, enroute to a 13-5 victory.  Although NDNU won convincingly, the Argos spent much of the game racking up penalties. Cam Foss was solid in the win for the Argos and ended up with 3 goals and 3 assists. NDNU got more aggressive in the fourth quarter as they took the most shots (11).  Marc Mackrides took the most shots of the game (9) and finished with 2 goals and assisted on 2.  The Argos finished with 41 groundballs to just 19 for Claremont.  Jon Munk led NDNU with 8 total groundballs.  Dylan Sheridan notched each of the five goals for Claremont. Mike Ferrari spent 3 quarters in the goal for NDNU and came up with 11 total saves. The Argos are now 4-3 on the season.

Argos Pick Up Two Wins Over Oregon and Oregon State

Tim Campeau led NDNU to their second win of the season over Oregon State with a 22-5 victory and Marc Mackrides led the Argos to a 16-8 vicotory over Oregon.  Campeau notched five goals and 4 assists in the win over the Beavers.  Jon Black added one goal, Marc Mackrides(3 assists) and Matt Marr with 2 goals, Justin Der with 2, Nick Ries with 1,Brad Matzek with 4, Mark Scherman with 3, and Ernie Hancock with 2.  The Argos ended with 47 shots on goal. Goalie, Mike Ferrari ended with 5 saves in the game. Mackrides netted 4 goals in the Argos win over Oregon on Tuesday night. NDNU outshot Oregon 46-26 for the game. Scherman and Campeau added 3 goals apiece for NDNU and Jon Black and JC Vera added 2 apiece. Ferrari had 14 saves in goal. NDNU improves to 3-3 overall on the season.
