Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum
(IGETC) Policy
Students attending a California Community College may complete the requirements in the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC). The IGETC is not an admission requirement for Notre Dame de Namur University, and does not guarantee admission.
Students may complete the IGETC requirements for either the CSU or UC system. Additional NDNU General Education courses (those not required for IGETC) must be completed prior to graduation from NDNU. The requirements involve courses in History, Philosophy, Religious Studies and cultural diversity. Please note that if you have completed coursework in any of these subject areas, you may have already satisfied some or all of these requirements. Please contact the Admission Office and speak with a Transfer Counselor for specific clarification.
Students may transfer to Notre Dame de Namur University without following the IGETC or completing their lower-division and general education courses. In this event, a course-by-course evaluation (Transfer Credit Evaluation) will determine which additional lower-division general education courses will be required.
Advanced Placement Credits. See details on AP scores and credits.
