Communication Program
Welcome to the Communication Program at NDNU. We offer a Bachelor of Arts degree as well as a minor in Communication. The Communication Program prepares students by combining hands-on experience with an understanding of the social and cultural impact of media. We offer a wide-ranging curriculum that provides a strong base for careers in media or business, or as preparation for graduate school. We pride ourselves in a program that is both enjoyable and challenging. Each student receives extensive individual attention including one-on-one support in the transition to post-graduation employment. We offer small classes taught by faculty with stellar professional experience. Our strong internship program provides a variety of opportunities for practical application and access to job opportunities.
Communication skills are highly valued in any professional setting, therefore a communication degree is considered a strong basis for most careers.
Our students are well prepared for positions in a vast range of fields such as journalism, public relations, corporate communication, marketing, and many more.Recent student internships include:
KRON News
Boys and Girls Club
Belmont Chamber of Commerce
KTVU Sports
San Francisco Magazine
VISA
Red Cross
Wave Magazine
As well as various placements in real estate, marketing, public relations and event planning companies
The Argonaut is our award-winning newspaper. Our small size gives students an exceptional opportunity to dive into the process of newspaper production from writing and editing to layout and advertising sales. Each year, a number of The Argonaut staffers are fully funded by the Communication Program to travel to collegiate media conferences in the western United States. At The Argonaut, all students are welcomed and encouraged to contribute.
